Giulio Barbieri's football tunnels are back in the game

On 17th November, an important historic match will take place at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina: its protagonists the national teams of Kosovo and England and a Giulio Barbieri football tunnel

The Giulio Barbieri tunnels are used by players worldwide to make their entrance during the major competitions, such as Champions and Premier Leagues, UEFA European Championship and FIFA World Cup, and these tunnels are now back in the game.
The national teams of Kosovo and England will compete against each other in the qualifying round of the UEFA European Championship in 2020. This epic match will take place on Sunday, November 17th at 6 pm at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina.

The players of the two national teams will enter the pitch through a football tunnel featuring the colours of the home team.
It's a Ready Box 1 fireproof blue PVC Tunnel with pneumatic wheels that allow a fast and agile movement despite its size: 14 meters in length, 3 meters in width and with a total height that exceeds 2.5 meters.
This retractable tunnel 100% Made in Ferrara integrates perfectly into the context of the arena and is designed so that it can be opened and closed in just a few minutes, thus respecting the tight schedule of the event.
The retractable tunnels by Giulio Barbieri can also be fully customised with graphics and logos. The tunnel is divided into individual modules. Thanks to this practical feature, the cover sheets can be replaced if it is necessary to change the graphics.

The Fadil Vokrri Stadium is located in Pristina, Kosovo, and is mainly used for football matches. It hosts all home matches of FC Prishtina. It has recently been renovated and, with the new capacity of almost 14,000, it can finally host European UEFA matches.

"Giulio Barbieri's football tunnel is a fantastic product, and you too are part of this important piece of history that we are writing" - these are the words of Benet Rezniqi, director of the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina, Kosovo.

Kosovo's football history is quite young, but it does not lack in emotion that characterises this sport. In fact, the national team has been affiliated with UEFA and FIFA only since May 2016. The young team of Pristina still suffers from the difficulties of an uncertain political situation. In the meantime, however, it continues to collect achievements.
On March 5th, 2014, the first official match was held against Haiti, in a permissive regime. The final score was 0-0. Julian Borger, a British journalist, wrote about this match: "In March 2014, the Kosovo national team played its first official match in a friendly game against Haiti. It was a cathartic experience; the meeting was followed with a passion worthy of a World Cup final".
With a decision that was considered controversial by many, on May 3rd, 2016, UEFA's annual congress voted for the admission of Kosovo and on May 13th it became recognised by FIFA as well.

Historical qualifiers for Kosovo

Kosovo is, therefore, competing in historic qualifiers for the 2020 European Championships.
The Challandes' team, in fact, is currently in third place in Group A of the qualifications for the next European Championships, behind Czech Republic and England.

On Sunday, November 17th, on the green of the Pristina stadium, the competition between the national teams of Kosovo and England will take place.
Last September, Kosovo lost to the British team 5-3. In the event of a negative outcome for the Euro 2020 qualifiers, Kosovo will still be able to hope for a place in the next European championships thanks to the UEFA Nations League.

Kosovo National football team

The Challandes' team secured a place in the four-team play-offs that will happen in March 2020 by winning Group 3 of League D of the UEFA Nations League last year. Kosovo will participate only in the event that it fails to get through the qualifying round. Otherwise, its place will be taken by the national team best placed among those who didn't qualify from League D. If it does participate, Kosovo will face Macedonia in the semifinals in Skopje and the winner of the match between Georgia and Belarus in the eventual final .

We will be proud to see a Giulio Barbieri football tunnel once again among the protagonists of such a prestigious football event.
